Who you work with#

We would work with food vendors, restaurants, packaging users, and consumers who need safe, affordable, and environmentally friendly food-packaging materials.

The situation#

Food packaging is widely used to protect and transport food, but many conventional materials are made from plastics or other non-biodegradable materials.

What is going wrong#

Conventional packaging generates large amounts of waste and can remain in the environment for a long time. Many sustainable alternatives may also have limitations in strength, durability, water resistance, cost, or food safety.

Why it is not fixed yet#

Developing a sustainable material that is biodegradable, safe for food contact, strong, lightweight, and affordable is technically challenging. Existing alternatives may not satisfy all these requirements at the same time.
