Who you work with#
Rural and urban communities, households, schools, community centres and local facility operators responsible for managing essential resources and infrastructure.
The situation#
Many communities depend on manual monitoring of water systems, electricity, environmental conditions and basic infrastructure. Problems are often noticed only after they cause significant wastage, damage or disruption.
What is going wrong#
Water leakage, pump malfunction, abnormal electricity consumption, overheating and other unusual conditions can remain unnoticed for long periods because continuous intelligent monitoring is not readily available.
Why it is not fixed yet#
Existing systems generally focus on a single parameter or use fixed threshold values. Many solutions can also be expensive or difficult to deploy in resource-limited communities. A low-cost, adaptable system that can learn normal conditions and identify unusual patterns is needed.
